Preparing for the Subscription Mobile Immersive
Recent research indicates an accelerating trend of companies across sectors adopting subscription-based business models. For example, a study from Supplier Surfing analyzed the competitive dynamics in subscription markets and found a detectable shift. Additionally, automotive retailers like Mobiliti are beginning to offer subscription services for vehicles.

3. Step-by-step User Interface
Guided UI
When "getting started" with the wizard, you are introduced to a range of options that are bespoke to your affordability. As you interact with Zh)m, the interface presents a progress bar near the top of the screen to distinctively show progress. Always moving forward, you can also go back a step and change what you want. My aim is to give flexibility while still maintaining a sense of user guidance.

4. Flexible payment methods
Frictionless subscriptions
This is not new data that enabling flexible digital payment options appears key for frictionless subscriptions. However, I created the concept back in early 2018, and a 2018 piece from Simon-Kucher shows debit cards dominate mobile payments, so I set credit as the default option. While I did not update any of the ui design for Zh)m since 2018, here in 2023, defaulting to credit / debit as main payment still holds true. I even saw this at Camping World while we sorted through payment options for enhancing retail conversions, which you can read about here.

In summary, early signals suggest an opportunity for sensory-driven mobile experiences and flexible payment options to play a role in future auto subscription services. But significant research is still needed to validate these hypotheses and quantify actual impact on consumer behavior. As the market evolves, designing human-centric subscriptions could become a competitive advantage for forward-thinking automotive brands.

5. End to end user experience (fpo)
See a walkthrough of the onboarding flow, browsing available vehicles, and going through checkout to activate your subscription plan. The prototype showcases how Zh)m's interface allows customers to seamlessly subscribe to and pay for car access on-demand, using flexible payment methods.
